at the end of the day a remake is a remake is a remake, it cannot be an original piece of work or a trend setting movie....i appreciate kamal's histrionic ability but to say he is a trend setter is way of the mark. and nobody can deny the narcissism that is a hallmark of all his movies.

Kamal is one of the hundreds of excellent actors in Tamil/Malayalam/Telugu/Hindi cinema. He has not gone beyond any of these people. But some Tamils call him "Ulaga Nayagan"!! It is a joke, I guess - not a real tribute! Unless, Kamal's old or new movie gets a BAFTA or a Golden Globe or an Oscar Nomination, at least - winning these Ulaga titles will be totally another thing. Some of the Tamils have too much "hero worship". They are very blind and easily swayed by these actors. New talents will come and sweep the "Dead Woods" away. Shruti Haasan is just a new comer. She wants to ride on her dad's popularity. She has to earn on her own - not on family name! Good luck, Shruti. Work hard. Cut the family name out, if you want to progress on your own!
