The violin duo Mysore Manjunath and Nagaraj wooed the rasikas with their
awesome performance at the 32ft Anjaneyar temple, Nanganallur for Hanumath
Jayanthi music festival.

They flagged off the concert with Sidhivinayakam in Shanmukapriya . Their
rendition of the song was followed by a barrage of Swaras that came as a
cloud burst. The brothers slowly slipped into a brief essay of Bindhumalini
for Enthamutho by Thyagaraja which was melodious . They brought out the
contours of the raga Saraswathi for Anuraghamule by Thyagaraja. The rasikas
were drenched into sketches of ragas as the violin duo essayed each and
every raga with elegance. The swaras and sangatis for Anuraghamule were neat
with no ostentatious inputs. There was a sprinkle of western flavor which
embellished the concert. The famous Himagiri Thanaye in Suddha Dhanyasi made
the audience sing along with them. .
The main stay of
the concert was a
ragam , tanam ,
pallavi RTP in
kalyana vasantham .
after an elaborate
delineation of the
raga they gave a
nectarine fare in
pallavi- Anjaneya
manasa smarami Rama
bhakthi to
propitiate Anjaneya.
They swam in the
maze of swaras and
struck a solemn note
with desh and sindhu
bhairavi.
The pulsating
swara arrays was a
toast of the
evening.
Enthavan
seithanai in kapi
added a spiritual
color to the
concert.
Neyveli Venkatesh
on mridangam
generated a resonant
sound on the
mridangam.
Trichy Murali on
ghatam played with
unflagging energy.
Their tani was
vibrant and anchored
well in grammar as
they played three
speeds. Misra
kuraippu in tisra
nadai was excellent.
The quartet
carved a new world
of sound scapes.
