From a 11-yr old boy..
I had the opportunity to hear and enjoy the music of Sri
Adithyanararayanan on 24/12/08 in the Vani mahal at 1 pm.From a 11 year old
boy, the concert is more than what is expected.
This boy is a disciple of Suguna Varadhachari. On the dais were -
Adithyanarayanan - Parur Ananthakrishnan - Prasanth.
Sri mahaganapathe - abohi varnam, Ninnunera - panthuvaraali, and then the
gana raaga bairavi - nee paadhamulegathi of patnam subramania iyer and
concluding the concert with a thillaana (brindavana saaranga?).
Adith has good voice and talent... Skill will develop with experience and
practice.
He is able to show the raga swaroopa within the first few seconds from
the start of alaapana. The gestures seemed a bit higher for the age.
One small piece of advice is: drink from the flask - only after the end
of a song or before starting the next song; Just starting an alaapana
(Example: bairavi alaapana) and then drinking from flask - is not
impressive... Also, theT V. Sankaranarayanan type shaking of the head and
body during singing makes you go away from the mic and so, the audience
experience distortions in the voice - when heard thro the speaker.
My best wishes to you Adithyanarayanan!
