His house reverberates with sapthaswaras as his father a music guru tutors students at home. This made Balamurali imbibe the nuances at a very early age. After a short stint with Neyveli Santhanagopalan he is now under the tutelage of P S Narayanaswamy. He hopes to pursue his career in music .Music is his soul and the oxygen of his existence
How did you get interested in music?
My father is a music teacher and
my mother is a music buff and this kindled the urge to learn music.. I used
to listen to my father teaching the students thus the passion to learn the
art was loomed large in me.
About your musical career
My first
guru is my father then I was under the tutelage of Neyveli Santhanagopalan
but now I am under the stewardship of the veteran P S Narayanaswamy.
About your present guru He is a walking encyclopedia in music and inheritor of the renowned Semmangudi bani. My classes would go on for hours without any time frame such is his dedication. I also practice at home and clear my doubts before performing in a concert
Your thoughts on the December music season
I always look forward to it . This time I am planning to sing a pallavi at Music Academy composed by Prof T R Subramaniam. I learn new songs for the season so that I need not repeat which might bore the rasikas.
