Chennai, Jan 07 : Top seed Russian player Davydenko today was is ruled out of Chennai Open due to a heel injury. The player who started the campaign on a winning note yesterday is one of the star attractions of the tournament.
Speaking to the media on the injury, he said "I thought my heel was fine. But after the first match yesterday i woke up today morning but couldnt do anything. i ll have to go home and check my heel"
The player was visibly upset on getting out of the tournament mid-way. " I generally dont retire from big tournaments. but i couldnt do anything about this", he said.
On losing ATP points Davydenko felt it won't make a big difference. " For me being fit matters the most than anything else. "
