Actor Nakul, fresh from back-to-back successes in 'Kadhalil Vizhundhaen' and 'Maasilamani', suddenly finds himself in the midst of a controversy. Nakul was conspicuous by his absence at the recent conference of film artistes organized by FEFSI. Wasting no time, FEFSI imposed an immediate 'ban' on Nakul asking the directors and producers not to have any truck with him.
Sources say that a leading private television channel is primarily responsible for the turn of events. The producer, who made 'Maasilamani' and 'Kandhakottai' (to be released) with Nakul in the lead, is no longer on the channel's good books and the channel moved its 'pawns' in such as manner as to take vengeance on the beleaguered producer. In the ensuing 'crossfire' in the war between the producer and the channel, Nakul was 'advised' not to attend the said conference.
Nakul, who met up with the office-bearers of FEFSI, offered to tender an 'unconditional apology' and reportedly said that he was ready to meet any one to putforth his point of view. An inside hand says that Nakul has been told to approach a 'big' shot who would solve his problem in no time. Last heard, Nakul is frantically making efforts to meet the said VIP.
