Remember actress Karthika, who debuted in films as choreographer-turned-actor Harikumar’s heroine in the film Thoothukudi a few years back?  The petite actress went on to star in a few more films before fading into oblivion.  She hasn’t been spotted in any film now for more than an year and now comes a report which claims that she got married a couple of months ago.

After her debut film, Karthika went on to star in a few films such as Pirappu, Raman Thediya Seedhai and Madurai Sambavam.  When she realized that film offers had become far and few, she silently retreated to her native place near Pudukkottai.  Her mother had earlier announced that she was looking for a suitable groom to get her daughter married this year.

Reports say that she got married to one of her close relatives a couple of months back at a temple.  Karthika, who was said to be in love with the guy, got married to him at a temple near her native place.  After her marriage, she moved to Chennai where she is staying at a rented accommodation.

Meanwhile, Karthika’s relatives still maintain that only the engagement ceremony has taken place and that marriage would be held later.  It is also said that Karthika’s family was not in favour of her returning to films again and in order to keep her away from films they got her married secretly at their native place.
