For reasons best known to him alone, the mercurial Simbu has very few friends in the industry. Telugu superstar Nagarjun's son Naga Chaitanya has been added to the brief list of Simbu's friends. Before you start wondering how the stars from the two neighbouring States became friends, the credit has to go to Gautham Vasudeva Menon.
Menon is in the final stages of shooting of his film 'Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya' starring Simbu and Trisha in the lead. Gautham is making it as a bilingual simultaneously in Telugu also and obviously Nag Chaitanya, who plays the lead in the Telugu version, has become a close friend of Simbu. During the course of the making, Simbu and Chaitanya have not only become mutual admirers but friends too, Unit sources say.
Menon is presently shooting the climax of his bilingual in New York where Simbu, Trisha, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha are having a whale of a time along with Menon himself. Though Simbu is having a jolly good time, he doesn't forget to ring his up assistant directors in Chennai and discuss about the story of his upcoming film 'Vaaliban'.
Prior to leaving for New York, Simbu was said to have been involved in a 20-day long discussions with his assistant directors at a five-star hotel in Chennai. The calls from New York were probably a follow-up to those lengthy discussions!
