A nice and welcome precedent is being set in the Tamil version of the film 'Pazhasiraaja', which stars Mammootty and Sarath Kumar and will be releasing soon. The film, which has been declared a superhit in Mollywood, would have a 'brief' lecture by Kamal Haasan that would serve as a precursor of things to follow on-screen.
No popular actor has done so earlier in Tamil films, lending his voice and popularity to prop up another contemporary actor's film. As such, Kamal should be saluted for having agreed to do the 'unthinkable'. The story is about those who fought for the country's independence and therefore, the prelude had to be given by someone with a huge popularity besides mass fan-following to convey the message across.
When he thought of whom to approach, the first name that came to Sarath's mind was 'Padmashri' Kamal Haasan who immediately agreed to lend his voice to the 'prelude' and asked Sarath to come at any time to get the job done. Similarly, megastar Mohanlal has lent his voice for the prelude in the original Malayalam film, scotching rumours that all is not 'well' between him and the other megastar Mammootty.
The Tamil 'Pazhasiraaja' is scheduled for an early-December release.
