It's time for sending films for Oscar nominations. This season, two films - Suriya-Shruthi Haasan starrer '7am Arivu', directed by A R Murugadoss and Lingusamy’s 'Vazhaku Enn 18/9' by Balaji Sakthivel - are been nominated from Kollywood by Films Federation.
Earlier, all the directors use to wait to see their films atleast get the stage of nominees for the prestigious Oscar awards. Now, the Films Federation itself selects a set of movies from different languages from India and sends for the final decision.
It's learnt, the federation will be in Hyd from Sep 18-26 to select one movie from the list , to be sent as an official entry for the ‘Best Foreign Language’ category. Interestingly Eega, the Telugu version of Naan Ee has also been selected as the Nominee, along with Deol [Marathi], Aakashinte Niram [Malayalam], Kaahani [Hindi], Barfi [Hindi], Heroine [Hindi], Ferrari Ki Sawaari [Hindi], Gangs of Wasseypur [Hindi], Dirty Picture [Hindi] and Paan Tomar Singh [Hindi].
