The title of TIC was conferred on MSV at a function held in the city to mark the 14th anniversary of the television channel Jaya TV owned by Amma. It also felicitated the duo of M.S. Viswanathan and T.K. Ramamurthy, who formed a successful association in the fifties and sixties and scored music for many films. The late Sivaji Ganesan had earlier conferred the title of Mellisai Mannar on MSV in the sixties.
Now that the TIS title has been conferred on MSV by Amma herserlf, it is expected that the veteran music director would henceforthe be known and identified by it. The title is not Amma’s own choice as it’s the result of a surve conducted among MSV’s die-hard fans by the management of Jaya TV. Many titles were suggested during the survey among which TIS garnered the emost number of votes and emerged as the winner.
Whatever be the title, it can only add to the name, fame and poularity of the celebrated music director who has recently signed up a couple of projects including a new film titled Kaattaan. Let’s wish that he gets nothing but success with his lastst ventures!
