Actress Hansika got a taste of what the ‘love and affection’ of the fans means.  The actress announced last year that she didn’t want to be referred to as Hansika Motwani and said that mere Hansika would be good.  Whether the shortening of name was backed up any numerological advices she might have received is anybody’s guess.

Hansika debuted in Tamil films with last year’s Engeyum Kaadhal and followed it up with Maappillai.  Both the films didn’t scorch the box-office and enede up as average grosser.  Hanskia, however, had a hit film in Velayudham which released during Deepavali last year.  She is presently awaiting the release of her upcoming film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (OKOK) opposite producer Udhayanidhi and directed by Rajesh.

She was recently in Coimbatore and was caught amid a huge number of fans who were obviously excited at seeing from close quarters their favourite actress.  The actress reportedly suffered minor injuries and bruises even a she tried her best to escape fro the clutches of the ‘over-affectionate’ fans.

While some pulled at her hands, some pinched her at her hips.  Hansika, who neve thought she’d get stuck up in such a situation, screamed for help and was rescued in time by the police who appeared in no time and dispersed the crowds.  Later, speaking about her experience, Hansika said, “Fans went overboard a bit…thankfully, the police were there to save me.  It appears that I shouldn’t be going to any venue without knowing about the security arrangements in place!”
