The latest ‘hot talk’ doing rounds in Kollywood is the reported affair between Vishal and Varalakshmi, the star-daughter of Sarath Kumar, who is also the president of Nadigar Sangam. Varalakshmi (Vara for us) is yet to make her debut in Kollywood as an actress and is awating the release of Poda Podi, her film with Simbu which would give her a ‘proper’ entry in Tamil films.
Some time back, Vishal had a tiff with Radhika, veteran actress who is now married to Sarath Kumar. The tiff was regarding payment of Rs.9 crores to Radaan owned by the actress. The amount was to be paid for Radaan taking up the theatrical release and distribution of Vishal’s Vedi which released late last year and fell flat at the box-office.
Sarath is said to be extremely annoyed at the turn of events and wanted to take Vishal to task for ‘playing’ with the career of his daughter. He has been restrained by Radhika, who also happens to be the president of the Small Scren Artistes’ Association. Sarath, who has resolved many an issue in the past in his capacity as the president of Nadigar Sangam, finds himself in an unenviable position as he has to resolve his own issue now without being labeled as showing bias.
Industry watchers haven’t discounted the possibility of Vishal going for a ‘tit for tat’ reply to the financial fraud complaint filed against him by Radhika by ‘purposely’ wooing the daughter of her husband. Varalakshmi was born to Sarath and his estranged first wife Chhaya. It is also said that Vishal and Vara are all set to pair up opposite each other in an upcoming film.
