RK’s emotional thanks to Bala

Industrialist-turned-actor RK has said that he would forever feel gratitude to director Bala for having chosen him to play the role that he eventually played in the latter’s upcoming directorial venture ‘Avan Ivan’.

The burly actor has termed his role in ‘Avan Ivan’ as a ‘turning point’ in his career.  RK, who had been doing sundry roles in films for the past few years, turned hero with ‘Ellaam Avan Seyal’ in 2009 and then followed it up with his ‘Azghagarmalai’ last year.  He is currently playing the lead role in noted director P. Vasu’s ‘Pulivesham’ opposite Sadaa and a newcomer.

After turning hero, he had been refusing offers to play other ‘characters’ but made an exception when Bala sent for him a few months back to play a significant role in ‘Avan Ivan’, which stars Aarya and Vishal together for the first time.  Bala, who had given RK a miniscule role in his ‘Naan Kadavul’, had assured him that he would make use of the latter’s acting capabilities in a ‘big way’ in future and did so with ‘Avan Ivan’.

“After taking up Avan Ivan offer, I simply followed Bala’s instructions keenly.  Only when I saw the ‘rushes’ of the film did I realize that I appeared very ‘differently’ on screen and that I had given a good enough performance to elicit appreciation from others.  Even Bala Sir appreciated me and I felt that was the greatest credit that I have got as an actor as on date…I really feel grtateful to him,” concludes RK.
