 Dr
S CHIDAMBARANATHAN is a successful practitioner in the field of Homeopathy
having vast experience in treating patients in India and abroad since 1992. He
completed his B.H.M.S. degree (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicines and Surgery -
5˝ years) at the Government Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital,
Thirumangalam and M.D (Hom) at Ahmedabad Homeopathic Medical College, Ahmedabad.
Dr Chidambaranathan was born in Madurai to C Shunmuga Sundaram and Gnana
Soundari as their eldest son. He got married to C Jeyabharathi and has a son and
daughter. He is better known in his field as Dr Cheena.
He has 15 years’ experience in
treating patients from his Laxmi Homeo Clinic in Madurai. He is also a visiting
honorary consultant to Jain Dispensary, a charitable hospital, for more than 14
years. He is the authorised Mother NGO Consultant in Rural Education and
Development Society (REDS) for the project of ISM & H, which is funded by the
World Bank to protect each and every system of medicine. He is also working as
honorary visiting lecturer in Saradha Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College,
Kulasekaram. He renders service to the Indian government as honorary consultant
in Southern Railway, Madurai. He has visited France, Belgium, Netherlands,
Germany, Italy, Spain, Luxemburg, Singapore and Malaysia in connection with
Homeopathy.
He was elected twice in
succession as a first-class committee gazette member of the Tamil Nadu
Homoeopathy Medical Council, which is the advisory body to the government. He
also served as a member of the board of examiners in the council and conducted
examinations for D.H.M.S., D.Pharm and refresher courses for registered medical
practitioners.
He was elected thrice as
vice-president to the Qualified Homoeopaths of Madurai, and organised many CME
programmes, seminars and camps. He also served as secretary to the Alumni
Association of the Government Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital,
Tirumangalam, and organised the silver jubilee function of the college.
He also renders service to the
poor as a vice-president and research medical officer of Human Care and
Homoeopathic Research Centre, Madurai. As a president of Similia Health Academy,
he organises seminars and CME programmes. He has organised more than a 100
medical camps on Sundays in four districts in and around Madurai to create
awareness and popularise Homeopathy. He is also trying to popularise the system
of medicine by writing homoeopathy articles in various leading English (The New
Indian Express) and Tamil (Malai Murasu) newspapers and also on Chennaionline.
