Karthika, who has a smile-to-die-for, debuted in the film 'Thoothukudi' opposite choreographer-turned-hero Harikumar more than a couple of years ago. Though she had a couple of more releases, her films didn't do tht well at the box-office. She is now doing another film with Harikumar in 'Madurai Sambavam' which also stars Anuya (of 'Siva Manasula Sakthi' fame) as another heroine.

Blame it on ill-luck or her misfortune: as many as five films of Karthika have been completed but are unable to get released. 'Vaidehi', 'Aivar Pattalam', '365 Kadhal Kadidhangal', 'Alaiyodu Vilaiyadu', 'Dhairiyam' and 'Madurai Sambavam' are the films in question. Though Karthika is well aware of the delay in the release of all the above-said films, she says that she is not to be blamed for the delay.

"I have always done my portion within the stipulated time and none of the above-mentioned films has been delayed due to my non-cooperation. Once the film's shooting is completed, only the director and producer can do something to speed up the release date of the film. They would obviously be itching to release their film(s) as soon as possible, no doubt. As and when these films release, I'm sure my standing would improve in the industry as well," says a confident-looking Karthika.
