Starting on from a kid’s chorus in Thevar Magan, Chachi 420, Hey Ram
to singing a full song in Vaaranam Aayiram- Adiye Kolludhey, Shruti
Hassan has sure come a long way. A confident and a brilliant singer, she
is now acting in her first Bollywood film, Luck. With getting a chance
to compose music for her father Kamal Hassan’s movie Unaipol Oruvan,
Chennaionline caught up with the excited Sruthi Hassan.
Bollywood flick, Luck
This is my first film in Hindi and the shooting is all over and it is
now in the post production stage. The movie will get released in June or
July. The idea of Luck is very unique and different and I have worked
very hard on this. It was very comfortable acting with Imran Khan as we
both were childhood friends and family friends. He is a wonderful
co-star and I had good time acting in this movie.
Music Composition for Unaipol Oruvan
It is my father’s film and a new director is in. A remake of A
Wednesday, this film does not have the usual format of 6 songs or
anything. It will be one of a kind and out of the box. I had to appear
for a formal audition and I did not get a chance immediately. I had to
convince them and here I ‘am composing for it!
Singing a
song in Unaipol
Oruvan
There is no
idea as it is
like me singing
for it. But I
will be happy to
do so, if got a
chance.
Tattoos
I got my
tattoo done when
I was in the U.S
studying. I
wasn’t at home
then and I got
it done which
says ‘Shruti’ in
Tamil in my back
shoulder. It is
just gives a
remembrance of
where I belong
to.
