Even
as the Tamil
Film
Producers'
Council is
contemplating
issuing 'red
cards' to
those
actresses
who absent
themselves
from the
audio-launch
of their
respective
films, a
surprising
move has
taken place
in Kollywood.
Some
actresses,
who had
recently
absented
themselves
at
audio-launches,
had
reportedly
lodged
complaints
with the
Nadigar
Sangam in
order to
circumvent
the
Council's
move.

The
complaint
says that
"The
Producers'
Council
threatens
action
against for
absenting
from the
audio-launches.
Most of the
time, the
producers
don't inform
us well in
advance
about the
proposed
function.
Moreover,
the balance
amount due
to us is not
paid
promptly by
the
producers.
This
prevents us
from
whole-heartedly
taking part
in such
events. If
we are
shooting
abroad at
the time of
audio-launch
of our
films, it's
the duty of
the
concerned
producers to
arrange for
our
air-ticket
and
accommodation
to enable us
to be
present at
the
function.
"More
often than
not,
producers
fail to
extend us
these
courtesies.
How can we
arrive from
abroad or at
a far-away
distance
without
air-ticket
and
accommodation?
It'd be
helpful if
the Sangam
advises us
about our
future
course of
action."
Thus, the
ball has now
been hurled
back in the
Council's
court!
