Santhanam,
who
graduated
from the
small screen
to films, is
now one of
the busiest
actors
around. The
actor even
played the
lead role in
last year's
'Arai Enn
305-il
Kadavul'
along with
another
comedian
'Ganja'
Karuppu. Of
late, he has
been seen
playing the
hero's
friend in
films
starring 'Jeyam'
Ravi, Vinay,
Simbu,
Vishal and
Dhanush.
Santhanam
is also part
of superstar
Rajnikant's
'Enthiran:
The Robot'.
Other films
ready for
release and
in which he
has essayed
significant
roles are:
Saran's 'Modhi
Vilaiyadu',
'Vaamanan',
'Malai Malai',
etc. He is
also doing 'Kandha
Kottai' with
Nakul and 'Singam
Puli' with
Jeeva.
Santhanam
claims that
he got
similar
roles to
portray
after the
release of
'Arai Enn…'
but refused
most of
them. He
says that
his ambition
is to play
the hero in
a
full-length
comedy film.
He admits
that some of
the
dialogues he
uttered in
the film 'Silambattam'
were vulgar
and far from
being
labeled
'decent
stuff'. He
says that he
won't be
doing any
more of
those in
forthcoming
films of
his.
"I don't
want to
appear
alongside
other
established
comedians.
Though it's
a healthy
trend, I'd
forever like
to remain a
director's
actor. I
also don't
want to set
up a group
which comes
film after
film",
concludes
Santhanam.
