Due to his
political
commitments,
'Captain' Vijaykanth
had
postponed
the launch
of
'Virudhagiri'
last year,
the film
which would
have marked
his
directorial
debut. Even
as his fans
and
supporters
were
wondering
whether
Vijaykanth
would tread
into the
unknown
territory of
direction,
Vijaykanth
sis said to
be showing
interest in
reviving the
film. He has
reportedly
asked his
close
friends to
'keep
watching'
good English
movies.
The
friends have
promptly
selected a
film after
watching
many films
and brought
it to the
notice of
'Captain',
who watched
the film
despite his
busy
schedule
during the
recently-concluded
Assembly
elections.
What he saw
must have
pleased him,
for
Vijaykanth
has given
instructions
to his aides
to
'refurbish'
the film to
suit his own
style and
the Tamil
'culture'.
If the
readers are
interested
to know the
name of the
film that
impressed
Vijaykanth
so much,
here it is:
'Taken'.
Now, it
can't be
'taken' for
granted that
re-makes are
always
successful
affairs,
isn't it?
