Kadhalna Summa Illa Movie Review

Starring: Ravi Krishna, Sharvanand, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Tejashree, Nasser, Ilavarasu Direction: Ilankannan
Music: Mani sharma, E.S.Murthy, Vidyasagar Production: Raj Television Network

Kadhalna Summa Illa, Raj TV's first production venture, has come as a fresh breeze amidst a lot of blood and noise that dominate the Tamil screen. The remake of Telugu super hit movie Gamyam has engrossing story revolving around the travel of the protagonist in search of his lover. The storyline and the treatment make the movie worth a watch.

Kadhalna Summa Illa

The film looks different though a major part of the original has been retained while scenes featuring Ravi Krishna who replaces Allari Naresh and a few comedy artists have been incorporated to make it look like a straight Tamil film!

The whole movie is all about a rich guy, who has been a spoilt brat, goes on a motorcycle road trip in search of his girl. The script shows how this trip changes his life and helps him discovering himself.

Abhiram (Sharwanand), the only son of a business tycoon (Nassar), loves to party and enjoy with his rich friends. One day he meets Dr Janaki (Kamalinee Mukherjee), a Good Samaritan who believes in making her life meaningful by serving the mankind. Though he could not identify with her social concern, he couldn't help falling for her.

The girl is not ready to accept his love saying that they belong to two different worlds. And she parts ways with him to pursue her life on her terms.

Abhiram is shattered and determined to find her. He takes his state of the art motorcycle and goes on a road trip in search of her. The travel gives him various kinds of experiences, which in turn triggers a change in his attitude towards life. He gets a co passenger, a petty thief Vetrivel (Ravi Krishna), with whom he goes ahead. He experiences various things which in his normal life would never have occurred.

The rest of the movie shows how the trip changes his attitude towards life.

Director Ilankannan should be lauded for the realistic way he has portrayed the travel though out the movie. He managed to mix up adequate dosage of comedy without disturbing the main thread of the movie. The services of Ghanja Karuppu, M.S. Bhaskar, and the loud mouthed but lovable Ravi Krishna, have made the fare engaging.

Sharwanand has ably portrayed his character without getting overboard. Ravi Krishna has accepted to play the second fiddle and leaves a mark. Kamalinee looks pleasant and exudes maturity in acting. M.S Bhaskar, Ilavarasu and Kanja Karupu have done their respective roles effectively.

All songs sound good but since they are rehashed from some Telugu albums, the originality factor is missing.

The movie has its flaws. It tends to deviate with every passing incident. The transformation angle fails to excite the audience after a point. Despite these shortcomings, one can easily say that this one is refreshingly different from the lot.

Verdict: The movie with a purpose impresses to a large extent.
