Nameetha
starrer 'Jaganmohini'
unit is said
to be
working
overtime
with a view
that the
film should
do better
than
Anoushka's 'Arundhathi'.
Producer
Murali has
apparently
instructed
his crew to
leave no
stone
unturned to
ensure that
the film
should have
graphic
sequences
equal to, if
not better
than 'Arunthadhi'
which has
been doing
brisk
business in
Tamil,
Telugu and
Sinhalese
languages.
The aim
to beat
Arundhati
has resulted
in a hike in
graphics-budget,
which is
expected to
double up
and touch
Rs.2 crores.
The film,
directed by
cinematographer
N.K.
Viswanathan,
would be a
new one and
would only
have a
solitary
sequence
from the
earlier 'Jaganmohini'
released in
late
seventies
that starred
Jayamalini.
The
sequence in
question is
the one
where
Namitha, the
spirit, puts
her own leg
in the
burning
stove, cooks
it up and
serves it to
her guest.
Even before
the film's
shooting is
completed,
there has
been tough
competition
among
distributors
to acquire
the
distribution
rights of
the
bilingual
Tamil-Telugu
film.
