Arya
starrer
period film
'Madarasapattinam',
directed by
Vijay of 'Kireedom'
and 'Poi
Solla Porom'
fame, has
got a new
lease of
life thanks
to Sun
Pictures.
The
production
company has
decided to
acquire the
distribution
rights of 'Madarasapattinam',
produced by
Kalpathi
Agoram at a
whopping
cost of
Rs.30 crores.
The
development
has come as
a great
relief for
the film, as
it has been
struggling
to proceed
due to the
pessimism
created by
the failure
of Arya's
latest film
'Sarvam'.
The producer
was even
contemplating
cutting down
Arya's fee
before Sun
Pictures
came forward
to buy the
film at a
magnanimous
rate.

Director
Vijay is
more
relieved, as
he was
worrying
about the
quality of
the film in
case of
reduction in
the budget.
Now he can
go all out
to recreate
the early
1900s of
Madras, as
required by
his story.
