Nowadays, the launches of audio-cassettes and CDs of movies are planned in a grand and novel manner by many producers. When Vikatan Talkies released the audio of its ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’ early this year, many couples were made to stand outside the venue and indulge in ‘mock’ fight between them. The ‘idea’ was to recreate the film’s ‘concept’ where the hero and heroine would engage themselves in fighting and pulling others’ feet.

Following this, the audio-launch of other film ‘Jaganmohini’ was also held in a ‘novel’ manner recently. Girls, donned in costumes of ‘evil spirits’, stood on either side of the way leading to the entrance and welcomed the gathering by showering flowers on them. The ‘welcome’ was planned in this manner to drive home the message that ‘Jaganmohini’ is a horror-movie.

Sarath Kumar, president of Nadigar Sangam, released the audio cassettes and CDs of the film. Speaking on the occasion, Sarath said that “Not all the films succeed in their remake versions. The script has to be good and the main cast has to supplement it. As far as this film is concerned, Namitha is a talented artiste who can accomplish anything she wants. Beyond her looks, she’s an extremely good actress, like our Khushboo!”

One can’t say what could Sarath have meant by drawing parallels between Namitha and Khushboo!
