Mahanadigan
Satyaraj, Namita, Mumtaz
A supporting actor becomes a hero, using all tricks of the trade, and then gets back at those who had ignored him and humiliated him in the past. A fun film with the film industry as the backdrop, 'Mahanadigan' has
Satyaraj playing Sathya, the sidey-turned-hero, with
Mumtaz and Namita for company. The duo play heroines who had ignored Sathya when he was just a junior artiste, and fall all over him when he becomes a hero.
The film is directed by Shakthi Chidambaram, his earlier teaming up with Satyaraja in 'Ennamma Kannu' being a successful one. The director has also to his credit films like
'Charlie Chaplin' and 'Kadhal Kirukkan'. The film is producedby M Nyanasundari for Sundari Films.
The technical credits include Suresh Devan for cinematography, Deva for music, Anil Malnad for editing, R K Vijaymurugan for set design, and Jaguar Thangam for stunts.
The film has been shot on 18 different sets. Some scenes were shot on Satyaraj, Namita and Mumtaz, where the two who play actresses fall all over Satyaraj, coaxing him to eat the food they've got for him. In the end the two actresses fight with each other, and Satyaraj watches the fun, but with a sinking heart, that he wouldn't be getting his food as it gets thrown about.
Manoj K.
Bharatiraj plays a crucial role as president of Satyaraj's fan club. And 'Autograph'
Mallika plays his girl friend.
The film has seven directors acting in it - Visu, Ramesh Kanna, P Vasu, T P Gajendran, Raj Kapoor, Chithra Lakshmanan and Manobala. Again, producers Murugan, M Kajamoideen, V Gyanavel, and Chainraj Jain play themselves in the film. The supporting cast includes Alex, Vinu Chakravarthy and K N
Kaalai.
While 'Amaithipadai' was a satire on the political system, 'Mahanadigan' promises to be yet another film to showcase Satyaraj's talent, this time a satire on the film industry, depicting in a hilarious way how a small-time actor gets the reins of the state in his hands.
