Bollywood
actress Shilpa Shetty says that she has 'learnt a lot' from the life of
late Jade Goody, her housemate in 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
Goody was slammed for racially abusing the Indian actress on the show
in 2007 which finally helped her to gain sympathy votes to win the
British reality show.
But the 33-year-old actress said she held no "grudges" against the
British star, who died on March 22 after a seven-month long battle with
cervical cancer.
"I've learnt a lot from her the way she's lived her life, she's
always made the best of all situations and she's been a brave girl. I
salute her for that," Shetty told thetimes.Co.Za in an interview.
The actress was here to support Rajasthan Royals, which is co-owned
by her. The Indian Premier League matches start in South Africa from
April 18.
Recalling the controversy that made Shilpa a household name in
Britain and Goody unpopular all over the world, the actress said, "Two
years ago we were bickering and fighting on television, and now when I
look back it all seems so futile because she's not even there.
