Director Perarasu has the habit of naming his films after cities and towns. His films 'Sivakasi', 'Tirupachi', 'Pazhani', 'Tirupathi', 'Dharmapuri' have all done medium to good business, making him a bankable director. He is now directing 'Tiruvannamalai' with 'action king' Arjun in the lead.
Tanya Vakil, a Mumbai model, was cast opposite Arjun as the heroine. During the first schedule of shooting, Tanya's tantrums and the 'starry' airs thrown by her, irritated Perarasu a lot. Perarasu didn't waste much time in shown the exit door to Tanya Vakil and has now roped in Pooja Gandhi as Arjun's heroine. Sanjana, who starred opposite Karan in the film 'Kokki', returns to Tamil films with a changed name i.e. Pooja Gandhi.
Industry sources say that Perarasu may not have much luck with Sanjana alias Pooja Gandhi either. It is said that after 'Kokki', Sanjana was signed up to act in 'Thalaiyezhuthu'. The film dragged on forever and though most part of the shooting is over, is yet to see the light of the day mainly due to the alleged call-sheet goof-ups by Sanjana.
