Though Genelia D'Souza (formerly 'Harini' of BOYS fame) has been in the industry for close to eight years now, she is yet to formally enrol herself as a member of Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Cine Artistes' Association - SICAA). In this regard, she had been served verbal and written reminders several times by the office-bearers of the Association.
Genelia always responds positively but doesn't bother to set the ball rolling as far as joining SICAA is concerned. Following her non-responsive attitude, SICAA gave her ultimatum till the end of last month and is now reportedly finalizing the decision to 'ban' her from acting any further in Tamil films.
It is learnt that even Nayantara and some frontline actors/actresses became SICAA's member only recently. Genelia apparently doesn't want to incur a paltry expenditure of Rs.50000 to become a lifetime member of SICAA and has been shying away from applying for membership.
