If one bothers to take a look at the many films under production in Kollywood, it's indeed amazing to note the craze among producers and directors who vie with each other to lift the late MGR films' titles. More than half-a-dozen films, bearing the titles of the legendary actor-turned chief minister are on the floors currently.
Some samples are: 'Malaikkallan', 'Aayirathil Oruvan', 'Naetru Indru Naalai', 'Alibaba', 'Raman Thediya Seethai', 'Naalai Namadhae' and last but not the least is Kamal Haasan's next film 'Marmayogi'. Readers might remember that in those days, MGR's 'Marmayogi' was one of the very few films that released with an 'A' certificate from the Censor Board not for its sexual content but for the thrilling and scary way some scenes were filmed.
