Karthi, the 'paruthiveeran' man's next film is 'Aayirathil Oruvan' costarring Andrea and Reema Sen and directed by Selvaraghavan. The film has been under production for a very long time now.

Producer-director Lingusamy, whose latest film 'Bheema' starring Vikram and Trisha failed to live up to expectations, has cast Karthi in his next film with a whopping amount of two-and-a-half crores as his fee. This has to be an unexpected bounty for Karthi, whose 'Ayirathil Oruvan' has only been completed upto 60% by Selvaraghavan and is not likely to be released before Deepavali.



In this film, Karthi plays a die-hard MGR fan and has the legendary actor-turned-politician's face tattooed on his fore-arm. An inside source says that the fee fixed by Lingusamy for Karthi would, however, depend on the box-office performance of 'Aayirathil Oruvan'.

Reason? Lingusamy has been clever enough to have added a 'clause' in the agreement signed by Karthi that depending on the 'result' of 'Aayirathil Oruvan', he would either increase or decrease the fee prescribed for Karthi.
