Meenal, who played Cheran's sister-in-law in 'Thavamai Thavamirundhu', remained out-of-work for close to two years. She then decided to let the world be aware of her beautiful curves and face and decided to have a photo-session, shot by the best in the industry and circulated those photos to the who's who in Kollywood.

These photographs have had the desired effect, for Meenal has now been approached to play the lead in 'Kandan Karunai', the title purchased from a devotional film starring the late Sivaji Ganesan in the early seventies. Determined to leave an impression in the minds of the viewers, Meenal has acted every-so-sexy in this film, which is said to be facing problems from the Censor Board.
