Vishnuvardhan’s
‘Sarvam’ is
a mix of
romance and
thriller
elements.
The movie is
trendy and
stylish. It
has come out
as a visual
and musical
treat thanks
to Nirav
Shah and
Yuvan
Shankar
Raja.

Vishnu has
attempted to
make the film a
serious thriller
without
gimmicks. While
the first half
revolves around
romantic
sequences
involving cool
Arya and
fabulous trisha,
the second half
concentrates on
a revenge drama.
Karthick (Arya),
a software
professional
falls for
paediatrician
Sandhya (Trisha
) who keeps
giving him
repeated
brush-offs. And
there is a
sidetrack
involving
mentally
disturbed Easwar
(J.D.
Chakravarthy),
who is affected
by a car
accident. He
gives some
jitters to
father-son-duo -
Naushad (Indrajeeth)
and Iman (Rohan)
- as a revenge
for the loss of
his own son, who
died in a car
accident caused
by Naushad.
The rest of
the story deals
with how
Karthick saves
the child from
the clutches of
Eashwar. There
is a twist in
the tale in form
of a heart
transplantation,
which makes
Karthick very
close to the
child.

Video: Trailer
That Vishnu
has concentrated
more on visual
techniques
rather than
narrative skills
makes the movie
less appealing
in terms of
content. He
hasn’t etched
the characters
well. The
sequences
leading to the
crisis and the
climax are less
convincing as
well.
Vishnu,
however, has
made the
romantic
sequences well.
Yuvan’s
fantastic music
adds more
attraction to
the romantic
scenes, in which
Trisha looks
fabulous.
Arya,
Vishnu’s
favorite star,
has done a good
job. He comes
across as a
cool, suave
architect.
However the fact
that he is non
emotive when
certain scenes
demand
histrionics
doesn’t auger
well for the
movie.
Trisha is
simply superb.
The gorgeous
girl steals our
heart with her
fresh and
charming looks.
She has also
portrayed her
role of a
doctor, who is
in love with the
protagonist. The
problem with her
character is
that she gets
very little
screen space,
which leaves us
disappointing.
JD
Chakravarthy
from Tollywood
has done well
but the impact
of his acting is
marred by the
flaw in his
characterization.
Like Arya, JD
too is wanting
in his
expressions in
some powerful
scenes.
Malayalam actor
Indrajith as a
desperate father
is quite
competent.
Nirav Shah
has done a
marvelous work
with his camera.
The locales of
Chennai,
Rajasthan and
forest lands
look fabulous
through his
lens.
Yuvan,
another favorite
of Vishnu, has
given yet
another youthful
music track. His
background score
is amazing.
The movie
looks stylish.
The camera work
and music are
excellent. Fresh
looking Trisha
is definitely a
plus point.
Despite all
these positives,
the movie loses
somewhere due to
some flaws in
the script,
characterization,
and
performances.
