Meipporul,
made by NRI
Tamils from
USA, is a
Hollywood
-style
thriller.
Natty Kumar
and Krish
Bala – both
IT
professionals
- have
produced and
directed the
film, while
Natty has
written the
script. The
IT
professionals
have come
out with a
neat script
that
reflects
their
passion
towards the
medium.

The story is set in the backdrop of NRI Tamils living in the USA.
Devi (Anusha) is a journalist working in a Tamil magazine there while
her husband Sam (Krish Bala) is a leading neurosurgeon. Devi happens to
know about an abduction of a child and saves the child. She becomes
famous overnight.
While you expect something to happen related to the incident, the
story takes a turn and deals with ESP (Extra Sensory Perception). One
day Sam meets Gautam Raja (Natty), who happens to have ESP power. Sam, a
rationalist, couldn’t help believing Raja’s predictions, as all of them
become true. Sam faces his first failure in a surgery, which was
predicted by Goutham. Sam is in for a big shock when Gautam predicts
Sam’s death and informs him that his wife Devi will be cause for his
death. The climax with its unexpected yet convincing set of twists lets
you know what happened to the prediction.
Songs by Rahul are hummable but the picturization of them leave much
to be desired. Background score by John Meshai is apt.
The heartening thing about the movie is that the narrative never
tries to resort to gimmicks and the momentum is maintained through
genuine use of suspense element.
Meipporul: Worth a watch!
