Prathyasha, a home for HIV affected children was inaugurated by Mellow Circle on the occasion of World AIDS Orphan Day.

Over the last 5 years Mellow Circle have undertook a focused programme specifically for HIV affected Children.

Prathyasha will be a home that will care for the physical, mental and emotional needs of these children and an to provide HIV affected children a normal childhood, complete with education, medical care, nutrition as well all other inputs required for a normal growth.

The 2300 sq.ft home housed on 8 grounds of land at Prathyasha Street, Vellanoor Vilage, Near Vel Tech Engineering College will have dormitory Rooms, dining Hall, fully equipped kitchen, recreation cum Yoga room, vocational training centre among other facilities.

Mr. John K John, MD Johnson Lifts was the Chief Guest for the event and Dr. Aishwarya Rao, Regional Coordinator, Tamilnadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSAC) gave the Keynote Address. Mr. M O Koshy, Director, GRT Group of Hotels, P.R.Nagendiran DEE District Extension Educator, District Collectorate, Thiruvallur, Mr.Arunachalam, Panchayat President, Mr K N Oommen, Donor of our land and members of PFWA were the other dignitaries present at the function.

The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial was observed during the inauguration in memory of those who have lost their loved ones to this dreaded disease and will light a candle in their memory. Mr. James Antony, of INP+ (Indian Network For People Living With HIV / AIDS) addressed the gathering and lit the first candle.
