Slipa shetty Chennai, always known as the destination of tradition and customs is now going vogue! Actress turned business woman, Sona Heiden of Sivapathikaram, Kuselan fame has launched her brand recently called Uniq- an international fashion accessory store right here at Chennai.

To add to the glitz, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty was flown from Mumbai for the launch at Taj Coromandel. Uniq will have handbags, belts, footwear, hats, scarves, rings, ear rings, nose rings, stomach rings, chains, bangles, anklets, sunglasses and much more both for men and women. All these accessories are hand picked by Sona from Singapore and other countries and the best part is no two pieces are alike. Says Sona, "I have hand picked very selective brands that will suit the tastes of Chennaities. I can assure you that no two pieces will be similar.

Slipa shetty As the name suggests, Uniq, you can stand out from the crowd by adorning with the accessories which the other person will not have. In fact, I have seen to it that not two pairs of footwear are similar." Sona also said that there will be only one size of footwear's, so the lucky ones get the best ones!

So how did she plan to enter into business from cinema? "I always like to have some control over things and want to stand on my own. I also wanted to do something that interests me and that is why I entered into business, though I will also be doing films side by side. I have quite a few offers in my kitty. Business is my second part of my life and my career." Sona is also planning to open Uniq in other metros by next year and she says with ease that she can manage both business and cinema, as technology has improved so much, she can as well keep in touch with everything regularly. So which will be her first priority? Cinema or Uniq? "Well, films are definitely my first priority." She says with a smile.

Slipa shetty Meanwhile, at the launch, Shilpa Shetty made heads turn with her fuchsia dress. She readily posed for the press photographers with a smile and congratulated Sona on her new venture. So is the Macarena and Mr. Romeo girl planning to act in Tamil movies? "I have always admired Tamil cinema and sharing screen space with Prabhu Deva and Vijay- the two dancing kings was like awesome. I always like Vikram, Vijay, Rajini ji, Kamal ji a lot and would love to act with them in Tamil movies. If a nice script comes along the way, why not give a try?" says the pretty actress with a smile. She signs off.
