Though the summer syndrome is slowly fading yet there are no signs of our celestial neighbor playing cool. The sea of changes in this suburb as the summers sets is discernible in several spheres.
The succulent water melons which decorated the street corners and juice stalls have slipped into slumber. Every street corners used to be flanked by mountains of summer fruits like mangoes, water melons etc. They have gone back to their roots waiting to appear next summer.
The juice stalls are not teeming with people as it was during summer. The population is slowly trickling down and the whizzing sound of the juice crushers are heard only at intervals.
The Puzhamudhir Cholai a fruit stall used to stock their stalls with summer fruits but now they are stocked with all available fruits. The stalls used to resemble a microcosm of fruit orchard at large.
Shifting to the academics the schools have reopened and the students who were let loose in the evenings are now pinned with studies. Regular exams and tests have ignited the academic year. Students were chatting at corners enjoying the Chaat items and now they are busy burning midnight oil at study centers or coaching classes.
The Summer Slam leaves void for the students and cricket lovers. Guess what is it? The curtains went down on IPL matches and the cricket buffs have nothing to discuss about as heated exchanges regarding the winner was a common sight at the roads.
June rings in every thing new and fresh. There are also some new entrants in this neighbourhood .There are some families who have shifted out of this place and some have relocated. Children are trying to make new friends with the freshers.
School and college buses have started plying regularly indicating that June is a harbinger of every thing Nouveau.
