Its official. Ajesh is Airtel Super Singer 2008. Launched in July 2008 for the hunt of Tamilnadu’s best singer, the show has reached new heights and many aspiring singers across Coimbatore, Trichy and Chennai took part in the ground auditions of Super Singer and proved their singing mettle in front of many legendary singers. The Judges of the show were Srinivas, Unnikrishnan and Sujatha besides many guest judges.

The winner of Airtel Super Singer 2008 gets one lifetime chance to sing in the composition of Yuvan Shankar Raja. Airtel Super Singer 2008 LIVE was held on June 3rd at YMCA Royapettah amidst thousands of active and interested audiences.

Airtel Super Singer 2008 The three finalists contested in a three hour mega LIVE event at the end of which the winner of Airtel Super Singer 2008 was announced as AJESH.

The crowd was seen in full cheers for the title winner AJESH. To make the LIVE finals more interesting, many LIVE performances was in store for the viewers. Michael, Priyadarshini and Raghav performed to some foot tapping numbers and Yugendran and DD were the perfect hosts for the evening. Popular playback singer Neha Bhasin and actress Chaya Singh gave away some exhilarating performances.

The Super Singers had a lot of goodies to carry home apart from the coveted title and a chance to sing in the music of Yuvan Shakar Raja. The winner of Airtel Super Singer 2008 AJESH was awarded with a car worth Rs. 7 lakhs. The first runner up RAVI was given a home theatre worth Rs. 2 lakhs. The second runner up RENU was given a LCD Television set.

In Airtel Super singer 2008, the show was really stupid coz i saw al the episodes the truth is only the ppl who likes a contestant ll win but the real talent was not exposed. The Fact is RENU really that girl having such a sensational and fantastic voice but she was thrid but ravi yep he is fit for the second. The real comment is renu and ravi is the best of al others they two should b the topper and second especially renu hav that talent to get it but these show ppl is not consider the real talents im shame on tat... I’m dont watch super singer regularly…As i waz tuning’ d channels i saw ajesh singin “thoda thoda (indira)”….Seriously speakin… i dont lyk dat song bt after seein him singin i was “off” man…..i started lovin diz song & waz searchin in youtube also bt could’nt find it …so i heard d original song bt it was’nt so impressive as ajesh’s…. Ravi really deserves the title, being the best singer in the competition . Ajesh is fine but Ravi and Ranjani r the best. So many months the judges judged the progs, and the finals also should b by the same or some other famous persons from the music field and should not have been done by public voting as it mostly done on popularity and not by judging the real quality. Anyways,Ravi, u definitely have wonderful future in the music field. Never give up. All the best.

hello there , as a srilankan watching an indian programme , i would rather recommend it wud hav been either Ravi or Ranjani ,Even tho ranjani has got eliminated in the first finals , it was really dissapointing , Seriously the ppl whom i kno was totally against the judgement given agaisnt Ranjani ( So called the Voting given by publi)h.ever Renu cannot be ignored by giving 3rd price , her voice is soothing. Infact i wud agree the winner if it was Ravi , follwed by Renuand Ajeesh. ( Im not agaisnt Ajeesh's performance , where as the judges hav even commented abt his voice saying that it wud become better in the future wen he grows up!. Feel free to make comments on my suggestion ! infact being a srilankan tamil the one n only programme i watched was this super singer , since i know music !!!!!

Hey Ajesh fans dont ever compare him to Ravi or Renu .he is unfit,didnt you hear his voice break in the so called winners performance,it was the worst movement Yuvan coming to his rescue.And his first performance ninaithu ninaithu was performed by both Ravi and Renu in the first round it self and where great.By singing it so badly in the finals Ajesh proved that he is no match to them.

Ajeesh is definitely a good singer - but Ravi and Ranjani are absolutely brilliant singers..Ravi should have been the winner...followed by Ranjani. It was a flawless judgement by Sri. Unnikrishnan, Sri. Srinivasan and Smt. Sujatha, hats off to them for their patience, encouragement and care. It is sad and disappointing that after all the hard work put in by the contestants, Judges and Producers - it had to be made political by popularity vote.. Is it really a talent show or a popularity stunt??, this how the talents and the culture is fading and "pop" culture is emerging. I am sure if some film star starts bleating on the show - he would get an absolute majority - so does he become a super singer???? I think it time we all think twice and wake up. Hi Vijay TV - Be good realistic and promote talent and do not fall into the same bracket and push talents into pits.

Though it was totally disappointing, it was sort of understandable when you let people vote, especially a college student is one of the finalists, you would expect all the colleges (who have better access cell phones etc) go for him. So, it was basically a popularity contest rather than based on substance. If the latter one had been considered, then I would have gone for either Ranjani or Ravi who had lot better depth and versatile with regard to plethora of genre.

Ravi deserves the title for the Airtel Super Singer. He is a all rounder. His carnatic background is excellent and he is such a versatile singer no doubt ie 100% . Ravi should have been given the title. Judging should be done based on the real talent. public voting should not be taken into consideration. Ravi is the most talented and talented contestants should be encouraged and should be set an example for the younger generation. Ajeesh is also ok but compared to Ravi he still need to improve himself in other areas.

Its highly disappointing and unfair to eliminate ranjani in the previous rounds and to award super singer to ajeesh who was eliminated many times in the show and was inconsistent right from the beginning.the channel really played a unfair and partial game.You have to encourage the right talent unbiased but aittel super singer was more towards malayalees including the comperers who even do not know to pronounce tamil properly....The channel who broadcasts Tamil pechu engal muchu is also doing such unfair things....very disappointed tamilian

I agree with almost all comments posted earlier about ravi ,his performance, his talents, his choice of difficult songs and his ease in singing them. Its a shame that the airtel super singer title holder, who should have been eleminated in the prelims itself, has won with a whopping margin of 2.5 lac votes.the malayalee judges gambled with the talents in display and hav violated big time. Lastly, i feel sorry for yuvan shankar raja, for he has been forced to give a chance to an incompetent(and boring)voice...

Why you people always in partiality, if you're from tamil naadu you don't like malayalee... when are you people going to stop hating each other like this. Nobody denies that Ravi is a very talented singer, but if you analyze throughout the competition, Ajesh had won the important awards such as best singer for AR Rehman music, Dedication round, Singer Chitra's award and with the famous pianist. We got to remember that if this competition should be decided by the judges from tamil naadu or music pundits, there is no need for this to be shown on the TV for up to an year, could have been done on a closed curtain. This is an entertainment show, the person who impressed more audience deserves the title. I think Ajesh well deserves to have that title.

Everyone sang very well and deserve to be a playback singer (exept prasanna who survives with his stand up comedy). However, the bottom line is, Ajesh has WON! Congrats Ajesh:) and people whom keep commenting that Ajesh won because of his looks and the girls' voting, should stop IT! because, you sound like your implementing that Ravi looks bad.... and thats' why he lost.. Hmmm.... Ravi's gonna be heart broken....

Ajeesh is a good singer no doubt, but ravi and renu were terriffic. According to english language , finals means last stage and the race is not going to proceed, I do not understand the logic behind finals 2, fantabulous finals , mega finals , live finals. Finals means the last stage ..thats it. Vijay tv stretched the finals to 3 episodes jus to make sure ravi or renu did not get the title. VERY BRILLIANT OF ROHIT TO STEPOUT FROM THE COMPETITION AT THE RIGHT TIME. May be he sensed that this competition is not worth his precious time. Had i been in renu's or ravi's position ,i woould have refused to sing again in finals 2 and the live finals saying finals shouldbe conducted only once. Any ways guys good luck

Hello people, I have been watching this Super Singer from the first day. If you ask me, I will say Ravi is not fit to be in this competition at all!! His voice is like a mouse trapped in a cat's mouth! He really screwed up in the Grand Finals when he was siging with Harini. How can a Super Singer sing in wrong notes with the correct tune??? That means he knows nuts about sangeetham. I expected Prasanna to be the winner, due to the fact that he has the Voice, Showmanship, Talent, etc etc... Ajeesh is just a little boy favoured by gals around. Renu was good. I still cant understand how Ravi could get into the finals!!! Some favourism went on!!

Ajeesh did not sing well right from the beginnning. He should have been eliminated in the middle itself. Ranjini, Raginishree and Ravi should have come for the final competition. Overall Ravi should have been declared as the super singer because of versatile singing and also the songs he had chosen to sing. The voting method was wrong since it could not detect multiple voting by the same person. Ajeesh won since many of his friends and relatives would have voted for him. Ajeesh himself knows to his conscience that Ravi is the best singer. The program which had a good start did not have the right end in the sense that the true talented person did not win which is not fair.

Its really suprising that Ajeesh won the title. Its Ravi or Renu who deserves it. To tel the truth everybody knows the wondeful performances given by Ranjani. Poor girl she was put to the second round of singing all times adn she came through. but even then title fixing has pushed her out. Then entertainer Prasana was also sent out. Ravi proved himself to be the best at all rounds. Ravi, dont worry even though you did not win the title, you are the versatile singer and super singer and not even a single person seeing teh show regularly would deny this. All the best Ravi and Renu, you have a wonderful future.

Finale totally lacked planning and organization. Ravi is better singer;yet, I respect the votes; congrats to Ajesh. It is a shame that the last five finalists could not be declared Supersingers. I feel sad, Ravi was sidelined because of ill-planning and execution. The senior artists on stage were not well utilized. Comperes lacked imagination in stage conducting and blabbered.

I expected Ajeesh not to get it because he sang very average song in the finals. Ravi as usual proved himself as a versatile and knowledgeable music singer. They should stop SMS voting unless they control one vote from one number. This gives a very fake decision at the end like this. Ajeesh cannot be better than Ravi. Am sure Ravi will be a better musician in future.

I love Ajesh singing as well Ravi, but the award should given to Ravi. I knew about Unni, some people saying that he is malayalee, but he born and brought up in Tamilnadu. He is better than Malayalam in Tamil. He can write,read, with fluent. But the programmer should also invite Tamil singers instead of inviting Malayalees.

Yes, it was very clear through out the competition that Raviw as a very versatile singer who proved himself as THE BEST. But as usual politics plays the drum in TN, it is a shame. Judges who cannot even speak few Tamil sentences properly are made to Judge a Tamil singing competition, yes Music has no language then it shouldnot have been called Tamizhagathin Kural, as mentioned in the earlier post. What a shame and a ridiculous MIS-JUDGEMENT!!!

I agree. The Results have been fixed. To make sure Ajeesh wins they kep changing the Goal posts. First they announced as Fantabulous Finals, suddenly they introduced Finals 2, got Ranjani & Prasanna eliminated midway in the Finals, eventhough Semi-Finals was already over. If Ranjani & Prasanna were included Ajeesh had no chance. Even in the Final Ravi was miles ahead of Ajeesh. However they allowed votes on SMS & web, even before the Live Final,which means there is no value for the Singing itself, but for how you can fix the votes on SMS & Web. A Complete farce.

Well, Sujatha and Unni cannot even pronounce tamil words properly in their singing or talking. So it is our mistake of choosing such judges. What is happening to good tamil singers like Mathangi, Sriram parthasarathy, Karthik....They should be the judges next time. Judges should not be selected based on popularity. Should be based on Tamil fluency and versatile music knowledge.

Inspite of hardwork and being consistent through out the journey, Ravi - turned out to be a runner up. This is a shear dissapointment to major part of the viewers. No doubt - Ajesh is a great singer, however, Ravi is definitely and undoubtedly one step ahead in the race. Everybody knows it is all part of the game and if one has to win the other one has to lose. However, this is utter nonsense. Gimmicks played by the channel is evident now to the whole world. The channel should consider the fact that this program has viewership worldwide. Respect the good talent! Don't insult a great music talent in a music reality show! Anyways, good luck to Ravi, Renu, Ajesh, Ranjani and Prasanna
