Magzter and Nuggets Media join hands to augment the Digital India initiative

Colleges in India will now get to have their own FREE MOBILE MAGAZINE AND NEWS READING APP thanks to Magzter [the world's largest digital magazine newsstand] and Nuggets Media. Students will also be able to read a variety of magazines for FREE on the Magzter App. Magzter, a New York-based start-up headed by Girish Ramdas who hails from Chennai and Nuggets Media, a Chennai-based start-up headed by Saravan Krishna M, have partnered to propagate the Indian Government’s Digital India initiative among the educational institutions in India.


They have collaborated with a vision of digitally empowering every Indian educational institution by creating a personalized digital magazine along with dedicated Android and Apple iOS news apps for them FREE OF COST.

While Nuggets Media will help each of the institutions create their own digital magazines and dedicated news apps with its team of designers, writers and editors, Magzter will provide the free apps and the technology platform to host these magazines. The apps will be updated with live feeds from various colleges, thereby, keeping all the stakeholders of the respective institutions, viz., students, faculty members and alumni informed about their respective colleges round the clock.

Magzter and Nuggets Media have already started creating digital magazines and news apps for premier educational institutions in Tamil Nadu and they are all set to spread their wings across the rest of India. In addition to this, when a college creates its own personalized digital magazine and news apps via Nuggets Media, Magzter will provide additionally a host of hand-picked, best-selling digital magazines to its students and faculty members FREE OF COST.

Besides fostering the ‘Go Green’ initiative, these digital magazines will encourage reading habits among the student fraternity. Apart from student-authored articles, campus news and photographs, the magazines will also carry interactive audio-visual content, informative and relevant articles by other stakeholders; for example, Industry-practices authored by practitioners from leading corporations across diverse industries. These are intended to create awareness for industry practices among students and help them shape their personalities and careers. Importantly, the offering’s cross-platform technology access ensures that the students can read the magazines anytime and anywhere on their Android/Apple devices and personal computers.
