Japan is interested in Chennai -Bengaluru high speed rail project

Chennai, June 18: Japan has expressed its willingness to take up the high-speed rail project between Chennai and Bengaluru.

Kenji Hiramatsu, Japan's ambassador to India who met Siddaramaiah, Cheif Minister of Karnataka on Saturday, stated that Japan is interested in expanding the high-speed rail network in India.

Hiramatsu visited Bengaluru to attend the function of launch of the Green Line of Namma Metro. Japan has a proposal to use the Shinkansen bullet train technology in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed train.
