 'University' is a peppy, youthful film with an interesting fresh star team and a pace that doesn't lag. A college campus backdrop, and some foot-tapping numbers by Ramesh Vinayakam. Gajala, a delight to watch as the fun-loving bubbly colleger. An unusual hero in Jeevan, with his long flowing hair. Interesting to watch him enact the introverted colleger, using his body language with effect. Also some of Vivek's comedy capers as 'All Thoatta Bhupathy' and his take-off on the superstar. Some of the factors that make the film not such a bad watch. Krishna's visuals make the film visually pleasing.
 From letters and e-mail, it's the telephone this time that brings two people together. Like it happened in 'Kadhal Kottai' and 'You've Got Mail'. A lost childhood, a scheming step mother, an insensitive father and rejection by those around him had made Gandhi an introvert. The colleger got his few pleasures in life by chatting with strangers on the telephone. One of the numbers he rings up, at random, happens to be that of a girl who is on the verge of committing suicide. His timely call interrupts her act, and a relationship develops between them. And then the duo decide to meet. But when Gandhi sees that his telephone companion is none other than Shanmati his college-mate who detested him, he withdraws from the scene fast enough. The love-on-the-phone, and hate-when-you-meet goes on till the matter is solved to everybody's satisfaction.
