Bharathiraaja's Take on Re-makes and Re-mixes

Director Bharathiraaja, who is gearing up for the release of Bomalattam, is not comfortable with the talks on the remaking idea of his memorable movie '16 Vayadhiniley'. Basically he is not for re-makes and re-mixes. "What's the big deal in re-making an already successful movie? There can only be one Jawaharlal Nehru and one Ravivarma. What kind of creativity a filmmaker can display by doing the same film by changing the artistes? The very idea of remake doesn't make any sense to me. Let the originals remain originals; let's neither copy it nor change their sheen".

There is a huge delay in the release of Bomalattam that concerns his fans and well-wishers. Bharathiraaja says that the reason for the delay in releasing his film is due to the advent of 'corporate culture' in the industry.

"Except for films starring big stars, other films are asked for a very low price by the corporate heads, who do not know about cinema. Due to these circumstances, I have been forced to release the film on my own and hence it takes time", explains the veteran.

However, he is confident that the movie would become a great success despite these hurdles. The movie is expected to hit the screens by the end of June.
