'Naan Kadavul' Gets Into More Trouble

Director Bala's long-awaited 'Naan Kadavul' starring Arya and Pooja in the lead appears to be heading for more trouble. The film, which was launched with a budget of Rs.5 crores, exceeded its budget and went upto Rs.10 crores, forcing producer Thenappan to opt out of the project.

Pyramid Saimeera then took over the production costs, convincing Bala to prune down the cost to Rs.7 crores. Bala, who has now completed all the technical follow-up work of his movie, has the film on his hands but is reported demanding an unreasonable sum of Rs.8 crores to part with the film.

The matter is under discussion at various levels in Tamil Film Producers' Council. Some sources say that it was director Amir who basically instigated and encouraged to overshoot the fixed budget saying once the film is complete, it would be sold at any cost and that Bala need not worry about it. On getting to know about this latest development, the producer is reportedly upset with Amir's intervention.
