September 24, 2015
At Shasun Jain College for Women teachers are valued dearly, for without good teachers this world could never be a better place. The college has organized a five day Faculty Development Program starting from April 15, 2013 right upto 20th April 2013.
Faculty members of various disciplines would be trained by Dr. Nayana Shah, Founder Director, Manthan Centre for Human Development, Ahmedabad. Her Ph. D thesis is titled “Institution Building in Indian Organization: A Framework” under the guidance of Prof. Indira Parikh. She also holds a Post-Graduate Degree in Business Management (MBA) and has undergone intensive training in Behavioral Sciences, Counseling, Psychometric Assessment and Organization Development.
“I have worked extensively with individuals, leaders, managers, academicians and students. At the Shasun Jain College for Women I will be training 26 teachers by splitting them into two groups.
The main aim of this training session with them is to enlighten their role effectiveness as teachers, which are split into three parts – (i) individual (ii) interacting with the other and (iii) behavior in a group. I have used projective techniques with the teachers in the form of story writing and group discussions” said Dr Nayana Shah, the trainer of the Faculty Development Program.
“Faculty Development Programmes of this nature are organized on a regular basis in our college. It is planned to prepare the faculty members for their academic roles and to improve an individual’s knowledge and skills in the areas of teaching and research. I am extremely happy that Dr Nayana Shah is training my faculty. I’m sure they will benefit greatly from her sessions and in turn lead to the prosperity of the college and students.” said Dr B Poorna, Principal, Shasun Jain College for Women.
