youngsters in India can have a partial, but effective sigh of relief, since the U S presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Mr Barack Obama concluded his speech at Raleigh, North Carolina. Outlining his vision for a strong US economy, he said outsourcing of American jobs to India and China cannot be reversed.
Revolutions in communications and technology have sent jobs wherever there's an internet connection, that have forced children in Raleigh and Boston to compete for those jobs with children in Bangalore and Beijing. These are indeed words of practical wisdom in a global village.
He didnt stop with that. "We live in a more competitive world, and that is a fact that cannot be reversed. he added.
The one-world dream is turning into a reality. From now onwards, the overall global opportunities are that matter. Qualified hands from any nook and corner of the globe can and will aspire for a job anywhere. This trend cannot be reversed by any force.
And Obama made another significant observation. America's challenges on economic front cannot be overcome by building "protectionist walls." No nation in the present context can do it. The whole world is shrinking and shrinking fast.
For the youngsters of India, if this is not the time to celebrate, then what time is?
