Yoga Yājnavalkya
Sage Yajnavalkya continues:
“Dear Gargi, Prana removes sweat and urine from the fluid in the body and stools from the food.

It produces the “Virya” the seed for consumption from the food. Prana and Samana together distribute the essence of the food in all Nadi-s.  Always it is the function of the Vayu-s in removing fluids through the nine-openings in the body.
The functions of the various Vayu-s are continued to be seen.
Prana, the prime among all the Vayu-s has the main and important role.
The removal of all the impurities from the system is the function of the Vayu-s.
Proper practice of Pranayama alone can help in removal of impurities.
The nine openings in our body are Eyes (2), Ears (2) Nostrils (2) Mouth (1) Genital (1) and Rectum (1)
Prana is always in these openings.  At the time of death, the Prana leaves through any of these openings.  Yogi-s can regulate and take Prana away from these nine openings and through the Brahmarandra and achieve liberation.
