Sage Yajnavalkya continues:
Whoever brings the Prana within the measure of body by using the “jatharagni’ through practice of
Yoga is considered as the “Knower of Brahman”.

This also brings up the concept of how Pranayama helps in removal of impurities. While the impurities
are spread over the body in a number of places and nadi-s, they are largely accumulated in the part of
the body below the navel, which part is called as “apana” region. The “Jatharagni” is above the navel
and by using the breath (Pranayama), this fire is turned down towards the apana region and thus the
impurities are burnt. Every inhalation will turn the fire to the region, in hold it will be burnt and in the
exhalation, the burnt impurities are removed out of the system. Thus Pranayama helps in burning
impurities and makes the Prana to be within the body.
