Dancer Nanda: When every move counts...

What does it to take to become a good dancer? Is it ample experience and knowledge in dance or having a background of ancestors doing the basic groundwork for you, while passing the traits along? Well with no such experience or training in dance, this man arrived in the dance world with a bang and is now creating waves all over India.

Dancer Nanda

We are talking about the popular dancer Nanda, who was the runner up of the popular dance show Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva, and is an upcoming Actor, choreographer and what not. Quiz him about his first step in the field of dance he muses, “I first started dancing after my 12th standard, until then I used to just go and cheer for my school team at all the possible dance programmes they participated in. My parents told me about a show which was happening in some channel and wanted me to try it out. With lots of attempts of convincing and arguing I decided to participate in my first ever dance competition”

With little or no experience he managed to get convinced and form a dance team for the competition. First victory is always the sweetest one. “None of us knew how to choreograph or what kind of songs to take and what concept to use and stuff like that. Though we had no experience and very little time for practice we still won the first place against the professional team of Chennai. So that was my first step into the field of dance, it was also my first victory, choreography and my first ever show”, he adds.

This budding Indian talent owns his own dance studio in T.Nagar known as ‘Studio D’ Dance Company. Started only a year ago, Studio D has already performed a couple of shows in Chennai and is ready to go on ride to fame. With good looks, and amazing dancing skills, Nanda also tried his hand at acting in movies. With a little disappointment in the beginning he managed to scrape through a lot of difficulties and bagged the best roles in his upcoming movies, notable being Mani Ratnam’s Ravana.
