Bora Bora is a small group of islands in French Polynesia(Tahiti). Why is this part of our list? Because, if you ever want to get close to Paradise then this is it.
The island is filled with resorts that seem to suspended over lagoons. An excellent option for honeymooners and those looking for romantic escapades. The islands are surrounded by shallow water lagoons that glimmer in neon blue. You can either laze away on the beaches or choose to pursue aqua centric sports like diving, snorkelling, sailing, cruises etc. The local handicrafts are world renown and some of the items that you can purchase include precious wood crafts, Tahitian pearls, oils and perfumes.
There are many things to do on your vacation at Bora Bora. How about starting the day with a breakfast on a canoe! Visit the most photographed location in the whole world - Motu Tapu. The ultimate private island, Motu Tapu is very close to the mainland. If you believe that Bora Bora is only about beaches or lagoons then you are from from the truth. There are 4x4 excursions that you can take inland and explore scintillating vistas en route. To go back in time, go horse back riding. Take guided hikes to Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia. You will be amazed with the beauty surrounding you.
These islands are connected with flights from Tahiti and Moorea. There is a flight leaving every 45 minutes. The airport is on a small island village and there are ferry services connecting the Bora Bora airport with the mainland. Some of the luxuriant resorts offer helicopter shuttle between their property and the island and the airport. Within the mainland, you will find public transportation and taxis although it is advisable to arrange for a vehicle from through the resort you have booked for better convenience.
