City models to walk the ramp

The team at Gitanjali Lifestyle Chennai Fashion Week (GCIFW) announced the names of 10 emerging female faces, finalized on the basis of all-India model casting and introduced Chennai based models walking at the  Season 3 of the forthcoming show. These fresh faces will rub shoulders with some of the industry’s leading female models and add to the excitement of the event.

The models from Chennai walking for Gitanjali Lifestyle Chennai International Fashion Week Spring / Summer are Leena Priya, Divya Singaravelu, Kavya Shetty, Bindiya Devi Talluri, Rochelle Rao, Sahithya, Azhar Joseph, Arun Venkataraman, Vishwanath Pu and Sameer Singh.

These ‘fresh-for-the-ramp’ models were chosen by a panel of jury that included the likes of Actor Arjan Bajwa, Model-turned actor Shahwar Ali, Designer Archana Kochhar, Designer James Ferirra, Designer Aruna Singh, Choreographer Lovell Prabhu , Beauty expert G.Shibani and Fashion Editor Shakthi Girish. The winning models were handpicked from over 200 aspirants short-listed by the CIFW board.

“I am looking forward to gaining immense exposure while working with the best choreographers and showcasing the collection for the most renowned designers.” says, Vijaya Dey, debut model and winner of MTV Making the Cut.

Bhavna Bakshi , from Canada , winner of the CIFW national model auditions, said, “This is my first assignment in Chennai I am glad that it starts with CIFW which is really a huge platform for upcoming models like us. .”

Kavya Shetty , the local girl from Chennai, said she could not bear to wait hit the runway on April 14 !!
